A comprehensive review of Lancashire's archaeology which brings together all the evidence for this region for the first time, some of it previously unpublished. Each paper discusses a specific period from the upper palaeolithic and Mesolithic until the industrial revolution. Under these broad headings the evidence is usefully summarised and topics discussed include past and present research, the evolution of the landscape and future directions for research.
